Types of Persuasion

Ethos:When you use role models, that you trust and look up to.
Pathos: Showing a lot of emotion, when you say something. Saying something in different expressions or tones.
Logos: Using cause and effect, stating the obvious of something. Gives you a true fact on something.ethos

Example of Ethos:
 This ad is trying to say that if you buy these shoes you will be as good as Michael Jordan. This shows Ethos, because its putting a famous person in the ad which convinces you that it really works. The targeted audience are young basketball players who wish to become a good player like Michael Jordan.This gives an effective emotion on how serious he looks, that hes trying to tell you its for you. The advertisers used ethos because its an easier way to get people to buy these shoes when you know there by a good time player celebrity.



Example of Pathos:
This ad is trying to say that if you donate mone you get to help a child in need in Haiti. This shows Pathos in emotion they put a sad picture of a child all hurt, with bandages asking you to help. Targeted audience is everyone, all adults and especially parents. This ad is effective by giving you a sad picture with a little girl who looks very hurt and sad, its effective with its emotion. The advertisers used pathos because they want to show you what they are dealing with, and how people are living in Haiti.





Example of Logos:
This ad is trying to say that if you put these nike running shoes on you'll be able to run as fast as a tiger. This shows Logos by giving you a cause and effect on saying if you wear these you'll run fast. Targeted audience would be all people who like to exercise and go running. This ad is effective by putting a tiger in the picture, and a lot of people know that they are one of the fastest animals. The advertisers used logos because its a good way to grab peoples attention on  how fast your able to run, the attention goes all to the tiger.
